Catching Tahoe Lobster

Growing up in Mount Shasta, California, I spent summers pulling crayfish from the creek behind my house. But I’d always throw them back. When I moved to Tahoe two years ago, I was surprised to hear the lake was full of crayfish. A non-native species, the nearly 300 million crayfish living in the lake promote the growth of algae and negatively impact water clarity.
